Age Concern  help the aged

We will soon be called Age UK the new force combining Age Concern and Help the Aged. We support all people over 50 in the UK‚ ensuring that they get the most from life.  We provide essential services such as day care and information. We also campaign on issues like age discrimination and pensions‚ and work to influence public opinion and government policy about older people. 

 Community alarms

Anyone of any age can use an alarm, especially if you live alone, feel vulnerable, are disabled or have been the victim of crime.

Meals on Wheels Service

The Meals-on-Wheels service provides hot meals to older and disabled people in the community who are unable to prepare meals or to heat frozen meals.

Referrals for the service can only be accepted from Health and Adult and Community Care professionals including: GPs, district nurses, hospital discharge co-ordinators.

Dial-a-Ride

A door to door transport service for people of any age who have a mobility handicap using specially adapted vehicles for mobility handicapped people of any age who are unable to use conventional public transport and are resident in Elmbridge.

Free Bus Passes for Older People and People with a Qualifying Disability

 

Image of the new National Concessionary Bus PassElmbridge residents aged over 60 and those with qualifying disabilities are entitled to free off-peak bus travel throughout England on local scheduled bus services.
